A little More About Us
															Kim Gillingham - Founder
At Drop Thought Kids, we believe that curiosity, confidence, and conversation are the foundations of learning. When kids are encouraged to wonder, question, and share ideas, they gain the critical thinking skills they’ll need to navigate our ever-changing world.
As a teacher, curriculum leader, and parent with over 30 years in education across the UK, China, Ghana, and Canada, I’ve seen firsthand how hands-on exploration and open dialogue spark curiosity and confidence in children. With a strong background in science, I’ve spent much of my career creating practical, engaging activities that inspire wonder and meaningful discussion.
But I also understand how challenging it can be for families and teachers to carve out time for those deeper conversations. Between school pressures, busy schedules, and the constant pull of technology, connection can be difficult to sustain.
That’s why I created Drop Thought Kids. Our conversation cards and hands-on workshops are designed to make it simple—and fun—for families and classrooms to slow down, talk deeply, and build the skills that matter most: confidence, adaptability, problem-solving, and trust in their own ideas. Each resource has been tested by teachers, parents, and kids to ensure it sparks curiosity, works in real life, and keeps children engaged.
We want to help parents and teachers nurture human connection, celebrate the joy of hands-on learning, and remind children that while technology moves fast, their ability to think critically, create, and connect with others will always be their greatest strength.
Hi Everyone,
My name is Sadie.G. I am 11-years-old. I enjoy readng, playing, writing, Taekwondo soccer, and everything thing about HARRY POTTER. “Job wise” I am my mum’s PR Manager (Public Relations), Creative Director and, most importatly, my mum’s LD (Loving Daughter). In my mum’s book, Jada Mei Mathew’s, the main character is based on me and I’m very honoured. Me, myself and I LOVE to ask questions just ask my mum, my family, my teachers and my friends, the list goes on. Luckily, my mum is super curious just like me and loves all of my question so don’t be afraid to ask them. We have great discussions about literally everying. If you are also super curious check out the activities on this site. I’d love to hear your ideas and questions, if you have any email us.
Have a great day, Sadie
When my mum was writing Jada Mei Mathews She’d get up at 4:00 a.m. just to get her “Me Time” in and write. When I’d get up she would be sat there typing away. I’d ask her to read me her next chapter. Sometimes she’d laugh at a part and I would too. At other times, she’d laugh and I’d just shake my head. I made sure she only kept the good bits in for all of you.
I’m an early riser. Sometimes I wake up on my own and at other times my dog wakes me by running into the room and barking.
I LOVE football! I’ve been playing since I was 3 and have the best coaches.
My friends and I made up a problem solver team. Unfortunately, the only problem we had to solve was, “Who made that dot in my friend’s workbook?” and “How to Get the Hat Off the Top of a Tube Slide that your Teachers Won’t Let You Climb?”
I think Nutella, Ice Cream and Kiwi should be served every day but my mum doesn’t seem to agree.
I love my cat, dog and mum. I love Jada Mei Mathews and I hope you do too.
Send a message and say hello.
